Another season has come and gone for the Cleveland Browns, yet a constant presence still looms over Berea, uncertainty. This feeling comes squarely from our quarterback room, led by Deshaun Watson, and it’s lack of results on the football field.
Let’s start with the elephant in the room. Watson has as many touchdowns as he has games started for our team with 19. Additionally, he has thrown for 3,365 yards, accumulating 12 interceptions in that span. With another season-ending injury and a recent setback, his availability for 2025 is very much doubtful.
Our other starters for the 2024 season, Jameis Winston, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and Bailey Zappe didn’t fair any better. Their stats tallied up to 2,941 total yards, 23 turnovers, and 14 touchdowns, alongside two wins and eight losses. Jameis Winston was responsible for both wins and 13 of the touchdowns.
To put it mildly, the Cleveland Browns need assistance at the quarterback position. They have many avenues available to address this problem. In this article, I intend to explore two of their options, free agency and the trade market.
