The Amari Cooper trade finally has a pick number attached to it for the Browns after Bills AFC Title game loss
Things are coming together to allow the Cleveland Browns, and their rabid fanbase, to have an idea of what is coming in the upcoming NFL draft. NFL free agency comes first but the league hasn’t even projected what the salary cap will be (which is unusual).
We learned last week that the Browns are projected to add three compensatory picks in the upcoming draft, running their total to 12. While most of those selections are on Day 3, Cleveland does have four picks in the top 100 this year thanks to the Amari Cooper trade to the Buffalo Bills.
With the Bills loss in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, the Browns first four selections now have their order set:
- First round – Pick #2
- Second round – Pick #33 (first in the round)
- Third round – Picks #67 (third in the round) and #94 (Buffalo’s pick)
The rest of the draft order is not official as the compensatory selections have not been assigned yet. The first of those picks comes after the first three rounds are complete which will move Cleveland’s fourth-round pick out of the top 100 (current projection is to pick #102).
