The Browns’ trade of Amari Cooper is going to be pretty much done by the end of the 2025 NFL Draft
The Cleveland Browns are adding a bunch of players during the weekend’s NFL draft in Green Bay and they have more ammo at their disposal thanks to a trade deadline move in October 2024. Cleveland shipped Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills, and that trade will mostly wrap up during this weekend’s NFL draft.
Original terms of the Amari Cooper trade
Browns receive: 2025 third-round pick, 2026 seventh-round pick
Bills receive: Amari Cooper, 2025 sixth-round pick
Who did the Bills select with the picks from the Amari Cooper
Buffalo received a sixth-round selection in addition to Cooper. That turned into pick 204 in the 2025 NFL Draft. We will update the post when the pick is made.
What did the Browns do with the picks from the Amari Cooper trade?
The Browns received a third-round selection which settled at 94 overall when the draft order was announced. The Browns selected Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel in a big surprise to analysts.
Cleveland also has a 2026 seventh-rounder coming their way.
How was Amari Cooper’s performance for the Bills?
Cooper’s presence was felt right away, catching a touchdown pass in his first game for the Bills. His impact wasn’t as great as Buffalo had hoped, though. He played in eight games catching 20 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns while fighting through a lingering injury.
In the playoffs, Cooper added six catches for 41 yards.
Who won the Amari Cooper trade between the Browns and Bills?
Cleveland definitely got the better of the Amari Cooper trade. They received a third-round pick for a player that was barely playing anyway and got to reload for 2025 and beyond during a lost season.
WINNER: BROWNS
