Jordan Thomas heads to Boston College according to report
Every year there is turnover on most NFL coaching staffs. Sometimes that is coaches getting promoted, sometimes that is due to poor performance (Ken Dorsey, Andy Dickerson), sometimes it is just looking for a fresh voice (Alex Van Pelt) and sometimes a coach just wants to move on.
With Cleveland Browns HC Kevin Stefanski introducing OC Tommy Rees in his new role at today’s press conference, there was a note about the potential for hiring a quarterback coach (AVP?) and other changes on the offensive staff. The rest of the presser was about what we expected.
Jordan Thomas, the Browns assistant defensive line coach, might be among the coaches who just want to move on as he is reportedly headed to coach in the college ranks at Boston College. An interesting note in the report is that Mike Vrabel was involved in the process:
Thamel reports new Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel recommended Thomas to Boston College head coach Bill O’Brien. Vrabel, who worked under O’Brien with the Texans, was with Cleveland as a consultant in 2024.
It will be interesting to see how many other changes happen on Cleveland’s coaching staff and if any of them are also connected to Vrabel’s time with the team.
