The star tight end made a plea for his teammate to remain in Cleveland.
Yesterday was a tough day for fans of the Cleveland Browns watching Myles Garrett doing multiple interviews pondering his next destination. It turns out that Garrett isn’t the only Browns player making an appearance on radio row.
David Njoku visited with Adam Lefkoe and Mike Golic Jr. with Bleacher Report to chop it up with the fellas. It didn’t take long for the subject to turn to the trade requested by Garrett when Golic Jr. asked if he wanted to make a public plea.
The shirtless Njoku breathed some life back into the fanbase with his comments: “Come on, dawg, stay home, bro… Stay home, come on, give it another shot. We ain’t that far off, honestly speaking, so.”
Njoku went further by adding: “That’s my brother, man. We came in the same time, the same round. We’ve been here the same amount of time. We’ve seen the lowest of the lows and the highest of the highs on our team… I don’t think we’re done yet. I know he wants to win, wants to be great, wants to be a champion. So do I… Stay home baby. We already got this far. We didn’t come this far just to come this far.”

When pressed about how close he thinks they are, Njoku responded: “I think we’re close, man. I think we just need a healthy, good quarterback.” While there is certainly more work for the team to do in getting Garrett to buy back in to the vision, it’s comforting to see Njoku believing in the plan for this offseason.
What do you make of Njoku’s comments? Do they give you any reassurance that the plan is to draft a quarterback at two? Let us know in the comments below.
