The Cleveland Browns selected Purdue wide receiver David Bell at the 99th pick of the 2022 NFL Draft. Bell is a fast, strong, athlete who knows how to play the wide receiver position well. Bell was one of the best receivers remaining in the draft and the Browns were able to land him.
At Purdue, David Bell was first-team All-American in 2021 and also won the Richter-Howard Receiver of the Year award in 2021. Coming off of a milestone year like it while at Purdue, Bell will be a difference-maker for the Cleveland Browns. He will be another weapon for Browns QB Deshaun Watson to throw to.
I think that the David Bell solidifies the end of former Browns WR Jarvis Landry. There were talks of the Browns bringing Landry back, but it looks unlikely now with Bell possibly being Landry’s replacement. After trading for WR Amari Cooper, the Browns were looking for another receiver in the draft and David Bell fell in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
The wide receiving core for the 2022 Cleveland Brown looks like this: Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, Anthony Schwartz, Jakeem Grant and now David Bell. This looks like a fun wide receiver group and we are all happy to have David Bell join us at the Dawg Pound. Welcome to Cleveland David Bell!!! Go Browns!!!
