HC Kevin Stefanski might have options including internal ones
The Cleveland Browns are just one of two teams looking for an offensive coordinator. Others will first have to fill their head coaching roles before deciding to address the coordinator position while the Browns, along with the Seattle Seahawks, got a bit of a headstart for their offense when they fired Ken Dorsey.
We identified six NFL coaches as OC candidates as well as four, including Chip Kelly, from the college ranks.
While HC Kevin Stefanski has very little competition right now for offensive coordinator, it will be interesting if reports of returning to his system limit his options. The team’s first OC interview has been reported, first by Brad Stainbrook of The OBR, as none other than current Cleveland coach Tommy Rees:
The #Browns will interview current pass game specialist and tight ends coach Tommy Rees for offensive coordinator, a league source tells @TheOBR.

Rees was the backup option at the University of North Carolina if Bill Belichick had not taken the job and has been rumored to be Mike Vrabel’s planned offensive coordinator.
A college quarterback at Notre Dame, Rees returned as a coach and rose to the Fighting Irish’s offensive coordinator position then assumed the same role with Nick Saban’s Alabama Crimson Tide. Saban has spoken glowingly of Rees as a coach which led to him joining the Browns this season, his first as an NFL coach.
We will keep you up to date with all coaching rumors and reports as the offseason goes along.
Any thoughts on Rees as the new OC for 2025?
