The Browns are looking to rediscover their identity on offense
The Cleveland Browns are trying to repair the damage done by what was perhaps the most disappointing season since the return. It appears that head coach Kevin Stefanski has been given full control of making the necessary changes to his coaching staff and the quarterback position now that he no longer needs to cater to Deshaun Watson.
By hiring offensive coordinator Tommy Rees and offensive line coach Mike Bloomgren, the Browns have signaled a return to the offensive system that Stefanski found his original success. It’s fair to wonder if Stefanski would like to have players back that he is comfortable with and experienced in what he expects.
While the Browns have plenty of their own free agents set to hit the open market, there are also former Cleveland players who will now be looking for a new team again. Let’s have a look at some of the most notable ones who could return on offense.
QB
- Jacoby Brissett- Patriots
- Joe Flacco – Colts
- Josh Dobbs – 49ers
- Nick Mullens- Vikings
- Case Keenum- Texans
- Jeff Driskel – Commanders
RB
- Kareem Hunt – Chiefs
- D’Ernest Johnson- Jaguars
WR
- Amari Cooper- Bills
- KhaDarell Hodge- Falcons
TE
- Austin Hooper-Patriots
- Harrison Bryant- Raiders
- Pharaoh Brown- Seahawks
OL
- Chris Hubbard -Giants
- Blake Hance- Jaguars
On this list, there are two players that stand out. If the Browns intend to draft a rookie quarterback to start early in 2025, then Jacoby Brissett could be an ideal option to mentor the rookie.
The other is tight end Harrison Bryant. We know Stefanski loved utilizing Bryant in a variety of ways and proved valuable in goal-line situations previously.
Now, let’s hear what you think. Who do you think is worthy of being brought back to help the Browns rediscover their offensive identity? Let us know in the comments below.
