The Browns schedule doesn’t matter except for NFL draft purposes but injuries could make things, somehow, worse
For 15 of the 32 teams in the NFL, Week 17 already doesn’t matter as they’ve been eliminated from NFL playoff contention. The five teams currently out of playoff seeding but still alive are all two games behind the final wild-card spots in their conferences. Tampa Bay and Seattle each have a better shot at their divisions than the NFC wild card.
That means the six wild card spots are all but locked up.
The Cleveland Browns are nowhere to be found as they continue in the AFC North basement and are focused on the upcoming NFL draft’s order.
Speaking to the media on Monday after their Week 16 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Browns HC Kevin Stefanski noted two injuries that could impact Week 17 starting with TE David Njoku having a new problem:
#Browns Kevin Stefanski said they’re not ruling David Njoku out for Sunday’s game. He’ll have an MRI to learn more about the knee injury.

New starting QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, who went into the blue tent with a calf injury early against the Bengals, is dealing with that issue coming out of the game:
#Browns Kevin Stefanski said Dorian Thompson-Robinson is dealing with a calf injury. More updates to come as the week goes on.

Stefanski noted that DTR would start if he was healthy enough to otherwise, if his shoulder is feeling better, Jameis Winston would likely take back over.
As the week of Christmas hits, we will keep you up to date with Cleveland’s injuries as they ramp up to host the Miami Dolphins in their last home game of the season.
