The Browns took down the Ravens in Week 8 with Jameis Winston throwing for over 300 yards
It is amazing what one win will do for a franchise that has been experiencing so much negativity. The Cleveland Browns knocked off the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season for just their second win of the year. Despite that, the AFC playoff picture still involved the Browns because the offensive line showed improvement, the passing game was on point, WR Cedric Tillman had two breakout games and a couple of younger defenders have been exciting.
In the end, QB Jameis Winston is getting, and deserving, most of the credit. Leading Cleveland over Baltimore will always be celebrated but completing 66% of his passes for 334 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions, including a lot of firsts for the Browns, will get you awards:
After his first start of the season, Jameis is awarded AFC Offensive Player of the Week!

This is the first time Winston has won the AFC version of the award but he achieved the honor twice in the NFC, last in 2019. WR Amari Cooper won the award last year in Week 16.
