NFL Draft Analyst Chad Reuter has released his first mock draft of the 2025 offseason. Notably, he predicts the Browns will select dynamic playmakers with their top two picks.
Reuter currently has the Browns selecting Heisman winner Travis Hunter, one of the most dynamic playmakers in the draft class, with the second overall pick. As for addressing the quarterback position, he suggests there are other solutions in this draft class. To start the second round, he projects Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers to be selected by the Browns with pick No. 33.
Before the 2024 season, Ewers was projected to be one of, if not the top quarterbacks in this year’s draft class. However, some poor performances in big games and pressure from his backup led to a decline in his draft stock throughout the season. Despite this, he still produced 31 passing touchdowns, 3,472 yards, and 12 interceptions in his final collegiate season.
Even if the Browns sign a quarterback in free agency, they are still expected to use a valuable draft pick on the position. The team may believe they can unlock the potential many once saw in Ewers and develop him into a promising piece for their future.
