After a surprising Day 2, Browns are back on the clock with 3 picks Saturday and this mock draft fills needs
The 2025 NFL draft is coming to a close on Saturday and QB Shedeur Sanders continues to be on the board and the big discussion around the league. Scouts, agents and media are confused that Sanders is still on the board and, much like I did on Friday, are trying to talk through what is going on.
The Cleveland Browns added fuel to the conversation when they selected QB Dillon Gabriel with pick No. 94. While Gabriel’s dual-threat ability is interesting, he’s not exactly who many had in mind to complete the Amari Cooper trade.
After multiple trades, the Browns head into Day 3 of the draft with three picks left to use. Cleveland GM Andrew Berry won’t be able to fill all of the team’s needs and, like most franchises, will likely focus on players, not positions.
Day 3 picks tend to fall into one of three categories:
- High upside/lower floor
- Special teams
- Known commodity/higher floor
Teams like to shop a little differently on Day 3, depending on which category they value more, but expectations should be significantly tempered about players picked at this point.

4th Round
#126 – DE Jack Sawyer, Ohio State
After selecting RB Quinshon Judkins, Cleveland heads back to the National Champions with Sawyer. Buckeye fans are surprised to see him still on the board, but Captain Jack lacks the high-end traits needed to be a starting-level defensive prospect. Sawyer makes up for that with effort and football IQ.
For the Browns, Sawyer is a known commodity who should be a rotational defensive end in Year 2.
5th Round
#166 – S Craig Woodson, California
Woodson is an athletic, versatile option here in the fifth round as Cleveland’s defense still needs more players in the secondary. If Woodson had clocked in faster on his 40 time, he wouldn’t be available here. As is, he provides an upside option at safety and a special-teams player immediately.
6th Round
#192 – OT Carson Vinson, Alabama A&M
At 6’7” and over 310 pounds, Vinson is physically ready to play at the NFL level and shows surprisingly good technique, but is not consistent and really didn’t need technique to beat his level of competition in college. Not a young player but still a developmental option on the offensive line, which is huge here in the sixth round.
How would you feel about Sawyer, Woodson and Vinson to close out the Browns 2025 NFL draft?
