Browns playoff hopes are minimal at this point but a win on Monday Night Football versus the Broncos would help
We all know the truth: The Cleveland Browns are not making the NFL playoffs. If they do, we can call it a miracle, luck or something even more spiritual but talking about it is mostly a waste. Instead, Browns fans should be far more focused on the upcoming NFL draft and if Cleveland can get the top overall pick.
Browns players and coaches, on the other hand, should believe in the unrealistic, miraculous possibility of turning a 3-8 record into a playoff birth.
We know that the team will have to win out in order to have any shot at the playoffs but a tough schedule, starting with the 7-5 Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football, makes it even more unlikely. The Broncos currently hold the final Wild Card spot in the AFC with a two-game lead on everyone else.
Cleveland is four back but that doesn’t stop DE Myles Garrett from believing and noting that HC Kevin Stefanski does as well:
#Browns Myles Garrett on why he still has playoff hopes:
“Because I believe it and Kevin believes it…that’s where our goals and aspirations still are, no matter what the record is. Teams have come back from worse. And we’re looking to be one of those teams.”

The odds are clearly not in the Browns favor. Denver would have to win no more than two games the rest of the year or the Los Angeles Chargers could win only one of their final six contests (due to tiebreaker). On top of that, the three teams currently in front of Cleveland but behind Denver would also have to win no more than three games.
Garrett doesn’t care. Until the Browns are mathematically eliminated, the players and coaches are going to believe in the miracle of an NFL playoff birth. That continues with Monday Night Football against the Broncos.
Do you think Garrett and Stefanski are just saying things or do you think they really believe they can pull off the miracle of making the playoffs this year?
