While the Browns roster needs to establish their future, it seems the team is moving forward with their new stadium
The most important thing to Cleveland Browns fans is whether or not their team will figure out the quarterback position and consistently win games on the field. While all of that is going on, the ownership has been focused on building a new, domed stadium in Brook Park.
Despite legal battles, the Haslams are standing their ground and moving forward. The funding conversation has been a key component for fans and the community as public funds being used for a billionaire’s stadium doesn’t sit right with most people.
So many details, so many discussion points, lawsuits, studies and more.
In the second week of NFL free agency, The Haslam Sports Group released a statement and a video about the proposed Brook Park location including noting that 85% of fans live outside of Cleveland city limits. They also noted a $2 billion investment:
In short, our region deserves a world-class project like this. We love Cleveland and Northeast Ohio and are committed to our community, our schools, our youth sports programs, our involvement in local healthcare, and our extensive impact programs. This project reinforces our dedication to Greater Cleveland and all of Northeast Ohio. HSG, together with its development partners, is prepared to invest more than $2 billion in private capital in the proposed new stadium and surrounding development.
We’ve made a promise to ensure our team remains the Cleveland Browns, and our Brook Park plans solidify that commitment. Will continue to update you on our progress. As always, thank you for your continued support.
The release also shared a new video of renderings of the stadium and the area around it:
