The NFL draft is the Browns focus now as the 2024 season had its hopes slammed shut in Week 9
The Cleveland Browns are officially, but not mathematically, eliminated from NFL playoff contention in 2024 in the eyes of DBN and everyone else. The Browns were throttled in Week 9 and now we can focus only on the rooting guides that relate to the 2025 NFL draft and Cleveland’s positioning.
Before we can get into a Browns mock draft, we need to get through the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday. While it is unlikely that Cleveland will move a player, like their untouchables, that drastically impacts the 2025 season, it is still worth waiting on.
The Browns 2025 NFL draft position will be an interesting watch the rest of the year. At the close of Week 9, an impressive nine teams have just two victories with two others sitting at three wins.
As of now, before the results of Monday Night Football impacts Strength of Schedule, Cleveland is holding the fifth overall selection:
- New England Patriots
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- New Orleans Saints
- Carolina Panthers
- Cleveland Browns
- Las Vegas Raiders
- New York Giants
- Miami Dolphins
- Tennessee Titans
- New York Jets (3-6)
After the Amari Cooper trade, the Browns have eight selections in the upcoming draft including three in the first three rounds.
Are you surprised how many teams have only 2 victories so far? Where do you think the Browns end up in draft position by the end of the year?
