Big win over Steelers was exciting but moved Browns down the NFL draft order
Who knows what will happen with the Cleveland Browns the rest of the 2024 NFL season? As seen by their wins over AFC North-leading Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, the Browns could be spoilers the rest of the way with a tough schedule of playoff contenders or they could lose out.
For at least one week, we will hold out hope of the NFL playoffs despite being four games back at this point.
If Cleveland struggles the rest of the way, the win over the Steelers could have done significant damage to their NFL draft positioning and options. With two players coveted at the top of the 2025 NFL draft, the Browns were slotted into the third spot going into Thursday Night Football.
With one game left in Week 12, a game that involves two of the better teams in the AFC, the current NFL draft order at the top is set with Cleveland still in the top 10:
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- New York Giants
- Las Vegas Raiders
- New England Patriots
- Carolina Panthers (first 3-win team)
- Tennessee Titans
- New York Jets
- Cleveland Browns
- New Orleans Saints (first 4-win team)
- Cincinnati Bengals
For the Browns, the primary tiebreaker will continue to be a big issue. They already have a .516 Strength of Schedule and have a solid schedule to close out the season. As of now, there are only two teams in the top 10 (Giants, Vegas) who have a stronger SOS than Cleveland.
We will continue to keep you up to date on all the details related to the NFL draft and, at least until they are officially eliminated, the NFL playoff picture for the Browns.
