Against a bad Bengals defense, the Browns’ offense could only muster 6 points under DTR.
Below, we analyze the snap counts and stats on offense for the Cleveland Browns’ Week 16 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
- QB: This was a really discouraging game for Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Before the game, I stated that his biggest weakness is when he is pressured, and tries to escape when he really should step up in the pocket to deliver a pass. The problem is, he either doesn’t do that, or his passing is no where near accurate enough in those situations. Another thing: he often looked like the fastest guy on the field. And while he did utilize that on a handful of openings, there was another play where he could’ve ran for a lot of yards, but tried to throw it instead, leading to an interception. I know it was only one game, but this was against a terrible Bengals defense, and DTR did not impress me at all.
- RB: For two weeks in a row, we’ve seen Jerome Ford break a big run. He has turned it up during the past few weeks, including what he’s doing on catch-and-runs. Unfortunately, D’Onta Foreman had two snaps, and had to fumble one of them at the goal line, ruining Ford’s big opening run. Ford saw a high percentage of reps with 80%.
Some positivity for Browns Twitter:
Mike Hall Jr. has a 11.9% pressure rate, which would rank 15th if he had enough snaps to qualify.
Jerome Ford is third in yards per rush (5.5), only behind Derrick Henry and Saquon Barkley.
And Jack Conklin is fifth in OT run block win rate.

- WR: With how DTR was playing, it was impossible to see the receivers. It’s remarkable how you can see their potential on display with a quarterback like Jameis Winston, but you get a DTR or Deshaun Watson in there, and you just assume the receivers are garbage. Jamari Thrash dropped a bubble screen, which was disappointing to see.
- TE: The top-targeted receiver was David Njoku, but unfortunately he seems banged up again after the game. Njoku was the third-highest graded player on offense by PFF, grading out to a 73.0.
- OL: The top-two graded players on offense by PFF for the Browns this week were on the offensive line: Wyatt Teller graded out to an 81.0, Ethan Pocic was an 80.4, and Jack Conklin was a 72.7.
