The Cleveland Browns finished their disappointing season with a final loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The 35-10 final score represents a season that the players, coaches, and front office will be ready to put in the rearview mirror.
Like most of the Browns’ previous offensive performances, there was little production to discuss in this matchup. Cleveland head coach Kevin Stefanski decided to give the final starting nod to first-time starter Bailey Zappe. His unfortunate first start came against a vengeful Ravens defense where he collected only 170 passing yards with a passing touchdown and two interceptions. Zappe also had the benefit of sitting behind one of the best pass protection performances of the season from the Browns offensive line. Despite the inaccurate targets, Browns’ top wide receiver Jerry Jeudy finished his impressive season with six receptions for 63 yards in the tough defeat.
Unfortunately for the Browns running backs, Cleveland’s offensive line could not find any success outside of their pass protection. The starting offensive line could only muster a 54.4 run defending grade against the strong Ravens defensive front. This resulted in a season-low 2.7 yards per carry from the Browns running back room on 56 combined yards. Not much was expected from the rushing attack without the Browns’ top two threats, Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford. This week’s PFF grades showed us that both the pass and run game will need to be redefined this offseason.
Now, let’s take a look at the Browns top offensive PFF players in their final week 18 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens:
