The Cleveland Browns tacked on another defeat in their latest matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The 20-3 final score was especially a result of poor performances by some specific position groups for Cleveland.
Offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and the Cleveland Browns offense struggled to find any rhythm on offense behind the arm of Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Their combined efforts led the team to another poor display of a passing attack. The Browns gunslinger was only able to collect 170 yards on 22 of his completions, resulting in a shallow 3.6 yards per pass completion. Luckily, Browns rising star Jerry Jeudy was able to haul in 12 of the 22 completions for an impressive 94 yards. One thing Thompson-Robinson managed to do well was avoid a stout Miami defensive line, who only secured one sack out of the six quarterback pressures.
Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was the only silver lining in a very rough performance from the Cleveland defense. He managed to collect his 14th sack of the year, making history as the first defensive player to have 14+ sacks in four straight seasons. This highlighted a very impressive defensive line performance where Miami was only able to run the football for 2.7 yards per carry. Unfortunately, it was the secondary who failed to do their job. Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley completed 22 of his 26 passes for 225 yards and a touchdown, leading the Miami offense to their 17-point victory over the Browns.
Now, let’s take a look at the Browns Week 17 position grades in their brutal defeat to the Miami Dolphins:
