With a lot of work to do, where does the Browns roster stand before NFL free agency, draft?
We are so far away from knowing what the 2025 Cleveland Browns roster looks like that we can explore all kinds of “what ifs.” Besides DE Myles Garrett for sure being on the team and QB Deshaun Watson for sure not being healthy to start the season, or longer, who is on the 53-man roster next year is a lot of guesswork.
NFL free agency and trades will give way to the NFL draft in providing the structure of next season’s roster. How LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah is recovering from his neck injury will linger until we see the star defender on the field in Cleveland/Berea, which provides another bit of uncertainty with the roster.
Providing a little bit of the “before” to the “before and after” picture of the Browns roster, here is who we project would be the starting offense, defense and three special teamers for the team right now (Free agents and injured players like Watson/JOK are not included):
Offensive Starters
- QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson
- RB Jerome Ford
- LT Dawand Jones
- LG Joel Bitonio
- C Ethan Pocic
- RG Wyatt Teller
- RT Jack Conklin
- TE David Njoku
- WR Jerry Jeudy
- WR Cedric Tillman
- WR Jamari Thrash
Defensive Starters
- DE Myles Garrett
- DT Dalvin Tomlinson
- DT Michael Hall Jr.
- DE Isaiah McGuire or Ogbo Okoronkwo
- LB Jordan Hicks
- LB Mohamoud Diabate
- CB Denzel Ward
- CB Martin Emerson Jr.
- CB Greg Newsome II
- S Juan Thornhill
- S Grant Delpit
Special Teams
- K Dustin Hopkins
- P Corey Bojorquez
- LS Charley Hughlett
Obviously, a number of players listed above, like Thornhill, could be released but, as of now, this is the roster Cleveland would roll out. The defense, especially if JOK returns, has most of their starters locked up barring trades or releases. The offense, on the other hand, is loaded with concerns starting at the top of the list.
What jumps out to you about the above starters list?
