Bailey Zappe had a huge game against the Browns in 2022
The beat goes on for the Cleveland Browns after starting QB Deshaun Watson officially was diagnosed with a torn Achilles and will be out for the season. While Watson mulls over different surgery options and what they would mean for his timeframe to return, the Browns mull over trade options (according to rumors), Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s performance in relief and wait to see if DTR can even play in Week 9.
Cleveland HC Kevin Stefanski noted that the team would have to add a quarterback to the roster. We provided eight names including Bailey Zappe, the former New England Patriots starter who is on the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad, as potential signings for the team.
According to a report, Zappe will indeed be joining the Browns roster:

Zappe started eight games for the Patriots including against Cleveland in 2022. In that game, Zappe completed 71% of his passes for 309 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions. For his career, the former fourth-round pick has completed 63% of his passes for 2,053 yards with 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
As a part of the Chiefs practice squad, Zappe must be signed to the Browns active, 53-man roster.
