It’s now been two weeks since the possibility of a miraculous Cleveland Browns playoff run came to an end. So, it’s not too upsetting that they fell to the 12-1 Kansas City Chiefs considering the injuries and draft positioning at stake.
What is a little more surprising was to see the Jameis Winston era come to a close so quickly and unceremoniously now that Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been named the starter likely for the rest of the season. Winston gave the team the boost it needed in a tough time, but his all-or-nothing style of play had been well-documented beforehand and it clearly didn’t work against more disciplined defenses.
Now it’s a matter of seeing what a young quarterback can do with a limited opportunity, and which, if either, gets a chance at real playing time next season.
