It’s a big redemption game for the Cleveland Browns not just because of the 33-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the first week. This game is huge for quarterback Deshaun Watson and it’s him dealing with a horrid first-week performance himself and also now new legal accusations.
Yeah, today is truly a make-it-or-break-it type of game for Watson and we are only in the second week…amazing.
Via WKYC: Left tackle Jedrick Wills is out for the second consecutive game, though right tackle Jack Conklin, who did not play against Dallas, was listed as questionable and was able to do more in practice. Watson will be missing a downfield weapon in tight end David Njoku, who is week to week with an ankle injury.
Yeah, I pointed out the fact that maybe it wasn’t all Watson’s fault in the first game, especially pointing out the offensive line which I felt was terrible. Here against the Jaguars, it’s so key for them to protect Watson and allow him to have a chance.
The Jaguars lost a close game to Miami on the road, 20-17 in Week One. This is their first home game this season.
The Browns will have to stop Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence and keep that pass rush on him with Myles Garrett and company making it diffult.
It feels like an opportunity for the Browns to either redeem themselves or destroy the whole season very early. The Jaguars are very average, but it’s a road game and an opener too for the Jags. Keep that in mind.
Watson has to ignore the haters and everything happening around him and just try and play football.
Finally, let’s help the man out.
This is a big reference to that WR Amari Cooper awful drop (we all saw it) last week and no it wouldn’t have changed the outcome, but it’s plays like that which must be made to fix this season for Watson. Making the block, no bad penalties and taking control overall as a squad.
