With NFL draft position vital, Browns fans have their eyes on a couple of games
Then there were five.
Last week, heading into the Cleveland Browns bye week, there were nine teams with just two victories and fighting for NFL draft positioning. This week we are already down to just five teams fighting it out for the top spot in the 2025 NFL draft.
The Browns are currently slotted in as the fourth selection with Strength of Schedule as the primary tiebreaker. As we get later into the season, we will start to root for everyone on Cleveland’s schedule to lose for this reason.
For now, what the Browns would do if they got the top overall pick is an interesting discussion. In order for that to happen, Cleveland will need to lose a lot of games while fans continue to tune into the rooting guide for the rest of the league:
Week 11: 1 PM Games
- Saints beat the Browns
- Jaguars beat the Lions
- Titans beat the Vikings
- Raiders beat the Dolphins
- Patriots (with 3 wins already) beat the Rams
- Jets (3 wins) beat the Colts
Week 11: Monday Night Football
- Cowboys (3 wins) beat the Texans
While anything can happen in the NFL, the two win teams are big underdogs, except Las Vegas, this week. The New York Giants, the other two-win squad, is on a bye this week along with the three-win Carolina Panthers.
Realistically, Browns fans could hope for one or two of the teams they are currently tied with to get their third victory. Then, after this week’s games are sorted out, Strength of Schedule will decide how high Cleveland would climb if they also lose.
Do you expect the Browns to win this week? How important is the NFL draft positioning to you at this point in the season?
