Cleveland has reportedly signed WR/KR DeAndre Carter
The Cleveland Browns have reportedly signed veteran wide receiver and kick returner DeAndre Carter to a 1-year deal.
The Browns have been in desperate need of a consistently effective kick returner for the last few seasons, and there’s a chance that they’ve finally found one in Carter.
He was one of the league’s top returners in 2024 when it came to his return averages and he can play legitimate receiver snaps in a pinch. He was the Chargers’ top slot receiver in 2022 when he caught 46 passes for 538 yards and 3 TDs.
He’s also been used as a gadget-type player throughout his career on end-arounds, jet sweeps, and reverses.

As mentioned above, Cleveland has needed a legitimate kick returner for a while now, and they may have finally found their guy in DeAndre Carter.
His 31.9 yards per kick return in 2024 was second in the league amongst players with 15 or more returns.

Carter most likely steps in as the top kick and punt returner in Cleveland, though it’s safe to say others will get some work there throughout the summer.
