A win against Denver keeps Cleveland’s teeny-tiny playoff hopes alive.
The Cleveland Browns opened as 5.5-point road underdogs against the Denver Broncos ahead of their Week 13 match-up, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The game will be in prime time for Monday Night Football, an extended week for both clubs, especially Cleveland. The over/under on the game is currently 41.5.
The Browns (3-8) are coming off of a 24-19 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, a prime time game that was contested in snow for much of the second half. Jameis Winston is now 2-2 as Cleveland’s starting quarterback, and has arguably led the Browns to two victories over playoff teams. Nick Chubb also had two touchdowns, while the Browns showed an identity and degree of toughness for one of the first times this season in the trenches.
The Broncos (7-5) are coming off of a 29-19 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos have been a bit of a spotty team this season, but when you look at their losses (Seahawks, Steelers, Chargers, Ravens, Chiefs), they have all been against tough teams — and they really should have beaten the Chiefs. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix has been playing very efficient, and Denver’s defense has been one of the best in the NFL.
Denver is currently the 7th seed in the AFC, and although Cleveland is four games back in the win column from them, they can chip away and make it three with a win.
The over/under for the game is 41.5, which is very low.
