The big Browns news as of late was Myles Garrett publicly requesting a trade from Cleveland. I wrote about both “sides,” I guess you can call it. (Links listed below to those).
Anyway, Browns tight end David Njoku was interviewed about the subject and this was interesting what he said.
“Stay home, bro,” Njoku continued. “He knows who I’m talking to. Stay home. Come on, give it another shot. We ain’t that far off, honestly speaking.” -Athlon Sports
Okay, so I looked at the Browns record from last season. Looked at it again just to make sure I didn’t have a seizure and was mistaken. Well, yes. The Browns did go 3-14 last season and had a disastrous year. My memory is terrible in general but that was confirmed.
Thus, David, I appreciate your optimism in trying to bring back a star in Garrett. However, this team is not even close to success.
It sucks, but it’s the sad reality.
An argument I made about Garrett staying in Cleveland is simply the matter of loyalty. One stays with the team, fans and franchise that stuck with you your entire career. The 29-year-old is heading into what would be his ninth season with the Browns.
The opposite is that this franchise is a joke, he deserves better, you only play so many years and the desire to win.
Heading into this offseason after the Super Bowl and it will be very, very interesting to see all of the news similar to this that came and ultimately what happens.
Will Garrett firmly stand with his desire to be traded?
Will teammates, coaches and executives convince him to stay in Cleveland like Njoku did?
Just how ugly is this going to get as time goes on?

Let’s try to enjoy the game Sunday despite the fact that our Browns aren’t playing in it.
However, be prepared for what’s to come this offseason in Cleveland.
It’s going to be a battle led by players making claims that the team is just a bit off. If I was a player on the Browns, well I’d be upset too. Garrett is one of the best to ever play and that is why this is so upsetting to us all.
David Njoku was just trying his best and it’s going to take a lot more of that from a lot more people and players around this organization moving forward.
