Browns trade rumors will continue to swirl as two of the best at their positions might be on the market
They say bad things come in threes so Cleveland Browns fans might want to stay buckled up a little longer. As we’ve shared, being a Browns fan isn’t fun or easy.
In the span of a couple of days, Cleveland’s DE Myles Garrett not only publicly requested a trade from the team that drafted him but then went on a little media tour at the Super Bowl where he laid out everything about his request. That included how LeBron James seemingly encouraged the decision along with Klutch Sports.
If the Browns give in to Garrett, Denzel Ward, one of the best corners in the NFL when healthy, might want to join his defensive teammate on the way out the door:

A Macedonia, Ohio native and an Ohio State Buckeyes star, Ward was far from committal about leaving the team that drafted him but left the door open:
“I’m not going to say I don’t want to be here,” he said. “I definitely want to be in Cleveland and play for Cleveland, but I think it’s just tough. I would hope we wouldn’t trade a guy like Myles Garrett away. That would be hard to see, and I would have to see the idea of, ‘are we trying to win if we’re trading Hall of Fame players like that?’ We’ve just got to wait to see what happens, but I want to play with Myles though.”
Ward appreciated that GM Andrew Berry said he wouldn’t trade Garrett and agreed with not doing so saying “we’ve got to get this thing rolling in Cleveland, and get the quarterback position together…”
Ward is under contract for three more seasons and would cost the Browns $30 million in dead cap space if he were traded before June 1st.
If Garrett is traded and Ward follows suit, Cleveland would not only lack cap space to make other moves but would also be in a position where very few veterans would want to stick around or sign as free agents.
Will Garrett end up being a one-off departure this offseason? Will the Browns see a mutiny on deck? Could Cleveland stick to their guns and keep both Garrett and Ward and “get this thing rolling in Cleveland?”
Too many questions, not enough answers at this point.
