Deshaun Watson aims to bounce back from a season-ending shoulder surgery that derailed his second year with the Cleveland Browns. The quarterback updated his recovery status by posting gym photos.
Watson shared four pictures (two black-and-white) of him working out shirtless on Thursday. The 28-year-old declared that he’s in great shape entering the 2024 season.
“Fell in love with my Hustle,” Watson wrote on social media. “Feeling BETTER THAN EVER!”

Amid numerous allegations of sexual assault and misconduct, the Cleveland Browns still acquired Watson from the Houston Texans in a package led by three first-round picks. They then signed him to a fully guaranteed $230 million extension before the 2022 season.
The Browns risked everything expecting a franchise quarterback, but Watson hasn’t played the part thus far. He’s posted a middling 81.7 quarterback rating and 59.8 completion percentage in 12 games with Cleveland.
Watson played the best game of his Browns tenure in Week 3, completing 27 of 33 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-3 win over the Tennessee Titans. However, he then missed three of four games in October.
After he returned for two games, the Browns sidelined Watson for the rest of the season. He underwent surgery on his throwing shoulder in November.
Last month, Watson said his rehab has gone according to plan. He should be on track to start the season under center when Cleveland faces the Dallas Cowboys in Week 1.
“Everything’s been going pretty smooth,” Watson said at OTAs, per the team website. “Taking it one day at a time, not trying to get ahead of myself. And I think I’m in the right position and I feel very comfortable.”
