The Cleveland Browns enter their bye week at 2-7, currently fifth in the 2025 NFL draft order.
They are tied with nine other teams with just two wins, so there is plenty of room to move up or down in the standings. We can expect better ball from the team with the switch to Jameis Winston at quarterback, but the schedule doesn’t get much easier. Five of their final eight matchups currently have winning records, and half are divisional games.
With all their draft picks back this may be a blessing in disguise, a chance to restock some young talent to a roster that may be ready to compete sooner than later. A top-10 pick seems inevitable and a top-3 selection isn’t out of the question, though I’d expect them to fall between the 5-8 range.
It may be early but it’s never too soon to take a look at the best available talent coming out of college. Here are some options the Browns may be looking at when they’re on the clock in April.
As a side note, should the Browns trade down? Probably. They need to recoup more talent after losing so many picks over the last few years, their last first-round selection was Greg Newsome in 2021. However, that’ll be easier said than done. Teams don’t typically trade up into the top five unless it’s for a quarterback and right now those selections look thin and the Browns may consider that prospect themselves.
