Titans, Browns and Giants impact each other with a new report/rumor sets up the top of the NFL draft
For NFL fans who have been around for a while, we all remember a time when the first overall pick in an NFL draft was known far in advance of the event. Teams would actually negotiate the contract with the player they would select at the top of that year’s draft, while those picking second would also start their conversations.
Gone are those days. Instead, the league wants as much entertainment value on the annual selection of players. Instead, we think we know that the Tennessee Titans will select QB Cam Ward, putting the Cleveland Browns on the clock, but we are forced to follow the breadcrumbs to come to that conclusion.
After the Browns sent everyone of importance to the Colorado Buffaloes Pro Day to see QB Shedeur Sanders and WR/CB Travis Hunter, the Titans made a decision that all but ensures Ward being selected number one:
So the @Titans have respectfully cancelled private workouts with Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, making it all but official they will take Cam Ward No. 1.
And now I’m starting to hear more and more about Hunter to Cleveland at No. 2. That would mean Abdul Carter vs. Shedeur…— Todd McShay (@McShay13) April 5, 2025
A lot could happen in the next two and a half weeks, but Tennessee believes they have all the information they need to move forward.
Cleveland is now, unofficially, on the clock and seem to be leaning toward selecting Hunter as the most dynamic player in the draft and, perhaps, in any draft in a long time. The Browns can also have more clarity with any team interested in trading up to the second overall pick with the Titans picking Ward.
Do you think this news clarifies Ward to the Titans for sure? Who do you want the Browns to pick if Ward is off the board? Do you think a trade down is an option for Cleveland?
