An update on the current status of Njoku and Ward heading into the Giants game
The Cleveland Browns are preparing to face the New York Giants on Sunday, and Kevin Stefanski provided the media with an update on two key team members today.
David Njoku (ankle) and Denzel Ward (shoulder) have been dealing with and rehabbing their injuries over the past couple of weeks inside the team facility. Ward was able to play against Jacksonville last week but he was severely hindered by the lack of shoulder mobility and flexibility, only participating on 11 defensive snaps.
Njoku’s ankle injury held him out of week two’s matchup but there was speculation that he could be ready to contribute this week.
#Browns Stefanski is hopeful that Denzel Ward (shoulder) can play more than 11 snaps vs. #Giants, TE David Njoku ‘unlikely’ to play.

Stefanski told the media this morning he’s hopeful that Ward will be able to contribute more against the Giants this weekend. Though it would be great to see him on the field more regularly in week three, it’s possible that the team could “afford” to let him work back in slowly again.
David Njoku has been making good progress with the ankle injury but Stefanski doesn’t expect him to play this weekend.
