The NFL Insider isn’t as confident as he was just over a week ago in regard to the Browns plan in the draft.
The Cleveland Browns are off to a quiet start as the league’s legal tampering window has opened. Teams are allowed to agree to deals with players but they can’t become official until the new league year officially starts on Wednesday, March 12th. The NFL media world is scrambling after most users have experienced a service outage on X, and have had to resort to other platforms for breaking information. Most fans have either hopped over to BlueSky or have tuned into cable networks to get the latest news and rumors.
During ESPN’s coverage of free agency, Adam Schefter caused a bit of a stir when he said that he’s not as confident as he once was about the Browns drafting a quarterback. When asked about his thoughts on what Cleveland would do at quarterback, Schefter said: ”Early on in the process I was pretty confident that Cleveland was taking a quarterback, I am not that confident anymore.”

Schefter was referring to earlier comments that he made on his podcast during the NFL Combine when he said: “The thing that I feel most comfortable and confident about in this draft is the Cleveland Browns at number two will wind up taking a QB.”
That is certainly a turnaround from his previous remarks, and really makes you wonder if he’s hearing rumblings of another possible move at the position for the Browns. This coming on the heels of Myles Garrett’s huge contract extension only adds fuel to that fire.
What do you think? Are Schefter’s newest comments a clue that something bigger may happen? Let us know in the comments below.
