Klutch Sports relationship leads to trade request as we’ve seen a number of times in the NBA
The Myles Garrett drama may have just gotten started for the Cleveland Browns and, maybe even more so, for the fans. Now, we add former Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James to the equation with the part-time owner of the Cavs (Garrett). With, likely 31 teams interested in Garrett, what the Browns can get in return (if they decide to move on from him) will be highly discussed especially based on recent history.
Like most big stories, the layers to Garrett’s request go deeper than the surface. Represented by Klutch Sports, the agency that James’ agent Rich Paul founded, plays a role. In the NBA, Klutch Sports has often facilitated getting players on and off of teams based on their desires.
That is a rarity in the NFL but Garrett and his agency are attempting it here.
Speaking to Rich Eisen (we will have a full recap soon), Garrett noted that James had been reaching out to him to check on Garrett:
Myles Garrett said on @RichEisenShow that he consulted w/ @KingJames before requesting trade from Browns.

Garrett noted that James compared their early careers and seemed to encourage Garrett to think about if “I was ready to consider any kind of move…”
For Browns fans, that information is likely to cause a lot of frustration. For fans of both the Cavs and Browns, James did bring the city a championship but now seems to be encouraging the football team’s best player to leave town.
How do you feel about LeBron James getting involved with Myles Garrett’s trade request?
