Former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel has landed a new job with an AFC North team.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Field Yates, the Cleveland Browns are hiring Vrabel to be a coaching and personnel consultant. He’ll get to help coach the team under head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Vrabel was most recently the head coach of the Titans but was fired after the 2023 season ended. The Titans finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for a second straight season, which was unacceptable for Titans ownership.
He was with the Titans for six seasons and led them to the playoffs three times (2019-21) and finished with a 54-45 record. Many thought he would get another opportunity to be a head coach for next season but it didn’t come to fruition.
Vrabel can now have fun with this gig and bide his time before another team comes calling for his services.
Before he coached the Titans, he was with the Houston Texans from 2014-17 and Ohio State from 2011-13.
He also played at Ohio State as a player so this is a little bit of a homecoming for him.
