After the game, Garrett talked about the victory in the post-game press conference.
“I don’t think about the individual performances,” said Garrett. “I think it’s great, (to be) able to make big plays for the team and that’s what it’s all about, putting them first and helping us get on that win column” said Garrett.
“Happy to be on the winning side of things and make my guys proud and make this coaching staff proud.”
Added Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, “Teams come in here and they say don’t let 95 wreck the game, and he continues to do it.”
Garrett and the Browns defense certainly made the Browns fans and coaches proud as the defense held the Titans and Derrick Henry to only 26 yards rushing for the game.
In fact, Henry only had 20 yards on 11 carries. In addition, the Browns only allowed 68 yards passing for the game.
Coach Stefanski talked about the great defensive effort that led to only giving up three points on the day.
“I’m very proud of the effort there and the fun part is we get to do it again next week,” said Stefanski. “Our defense is playing Lights out from the players, to Coach Schwartz (to) the defensive coaches we’re playing at a high level. I thought the guys did a really nice job knowing what the challenge was in front of us, and I thought they stepped up to the challenge.”
As coach Stefanski mentioned, the Browns started strong right away.
The Browns got the ball, and they drove right down the field for over seven minutes.
The Browns first offensive drive resulted in a 48-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins with 7:49 left in the first quarter as the Browns took a 3-0 lead.
For the game, Hopkins was 2-2 on field goals and 3-3 on extra points.
Then, after kicking off to the Titans, the Browns defense forced a three and out.

Early in the second quarter, the Titans tied the game at 3-3 as Nick Folk connected on a 44-yard field goal after the Browns fumbled.
The Browns added to their lead after a 9 play 75-yard drive which resulted in a 19-yard touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson to Jerome Ford as they took a 10-3 lead with 9:39 left in the second quarter.
