Analyzing UCONN OT Chase Lundt as a potential draft pick for Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns desperately need to add depth and starting-quality players to the offensive tackle room in 2025, and this year’s NFL Draft class is loaded with options in every round for Andrew Berry and Co. to choose from.
The Browns are set to lose five offensive tackles to free agency in a couple of weeks, including incumbent-ish starter Jedrick Wills Jr. For Kevin Stefanski’s offense to be running on all cylinders, the left tackle position absolutely has to be solidified this offseason.
Connecticut OT Chase Lundt is a player who could be on the Browns’ radar heading into draft weekend due to his scheme fit, athleticism, and versatility. He’s undoubtedly one of the top team fits for Cleveland along with Minnesota OT Aireontae Ersery in the 2025 class.
I’m incredibly interested to see how UCONN OT Chase Lundt tests at the NFL Combine.

What an Expert is Saying
“Lundt has the makings of an outside-zone developmental tackle. He has a tremendous ceiling, thanks to his natural athleticism, range as a blocker, and the stiffness with which he delivers blows with his punch.
However, power rushers loom as a big riddle for him to solve moving forward, and he’ll need to diversify his hand usage in protection to keep NFL rushers off balance. A Shanahan-scheme offense would maximize his talent.” – Kyle Crabbs, The 33rd team
Fit with the Browns
As mentioned above, Lundt is one of the better scheme fits for Cleveland in the 2025 class due to his above-average athleticism and ability to consistently reach defenders outside of his frame.
He was asked to reach slanting 3-techniques and seal athletic 5 and 6i-techniques quite a bit at UCONN, and he was able to get the job done more often than not. Kevin Stefanski’s run game asks a lot of the offensive tackles depending on defensive alignment and Lundt is already accustomed to it due to his experience in UCONN’s stretch-run schemes.
Browns Player Drafting Could Impact
Though Chase Lundt has primarily played right tackle in college, his athleticism and smooth footwork should make a transition to the left side fairly easy for him. Unlike Jed Wills Jr., Lundt already has an NFL-ready lower body when it comes to flexibility and footspeed.
He’d be able to come in and compete with Dawand Jones at left tackle, along with whatever free agent the team might bring in.
Priority
High.
