Analyzing Boston College OT Ozzy Trapilo as a potential draft pick for Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns have to add youth, playable depth, and eventual starting-quality players to the offensive tackle room in 2025, and this year’s NFL Draft class is loaded with options for the front office to choose from.
They’ve done a good job of adding to the offensive line in free agency with OT Cornelius Lucas and OG Teven Jenkins being the headliners, but Cleveland still needs to bring in younger players to develop for the future.
Boston College OT Ozzy Trapilo is a player who could be on the Browns’ radar heading into draft weekend due to his experience, size, and athleticism.

What an Expert is Saying
“Trapilo is a scheme-diverse offensive tackle who boasts the necessary pass protection skills to play effectively in any passing-focused offense. He illustrates the functional athleticism to be an impactful space creator in zone schemes or gap schemes and has the right blend of size and athleticism to stay sticky on defenders while driving his feet to sustain movement.
Trapilo should be in contention to start quickly at the NFL level, provided he can resolve some of his exchange lapses in pass protection against stunts and pressures. ” – Kyle Crabbs, The 33rd team
Fit with the Browns
Ozzy Trapilo is a big, athletic, and aggressive offensive tackle that is well versed in the nuances of a pro style offense.
He’s an excellent mover both laterally and in space despite being 6’8” and does a great job of always keeping his head on a swivel in pass protection, making him fairly effective against defensive stunts and twists.
Trapilo, along with players like Josh Conerly Jr., Aireonate Ersery, and Chase Lundt are some of the best team fits for Cleveland in the 2025 class outside of Round 1.
Browns Player Drafting Could Impact
Dawand Jones. Jones is currently penciled in as Cleveland’s starting left tackle heading into 2025, but adding someone like Trapilo to the room would create legitimate competition for Jones throughout the summer.
Though Trapilo spent the last two seasons at right tackle for Boston College, he started at left tackle in 2022 and still has the athleticism and footwork to play there at the NFL level.
Priority
High.
