Analyzing OSU RB TreVeyon Henderson as a potential draft pick for Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns need to add more production and playable depth to the running back room this offseason and this year’s NFL Draft class is loaded with excellent options for Andrew Berry and Co. to choose from.
The Browns are currently expected to have four members of the backfield hit free agency once the new league year begins in March, including Nick Chubb. Though they’re hopeful that they can work out a new team-friendly deal for Chubb, Cleveland absolutely has to bring in more talent along with him in 2025.
TreVeyon Henderson is a player who could be on the Browns’ radar heading into draft weekend due to his top-end speed, explosive burst, and ability to contribute right away as both a runner and pass-catcher.

What an Expert is Saying
“Henderson projects a scheme-versatile three-down starting running back who can handle a strong workload without losing effectiveness. His potential as a pass protector and pass catcher can raise his pro ceiling if he is coached and developed in those areas of his game.” – Damian Parson, TDN Scout
Fit with the Browns
TreVeyon Henderson is an explosive, one-cut-and-go back who utilizes his above-average vision and patience to find seams in the defense. He has the capacity to fill a lot of different roles in Cleveland’s offense and could be an effective member of Kevin Stefanski’s backfield from the moment he steps into the team facility.
Browns Player Drafting Could Impact
Henderson has the overall skill set and ability to handle a decent-sized workload at the NFL level, which means he’d bring competition to every aspect of the team’s running back room.
Depending on who else the team brings in, Henderson could potentially be in a “1A/1B” type situation with Nick Chubb (hopefully) in 2025. Due to his pass-blocking skills and soft hands, he’d also be able to jump right in and be the team’s 3rd-down back as a rookie.
Priority
Medium-High.
