As the NFL combine continues, Jalen Milroe could help the Browns but is all about the team, program
The NFL offseason schedule is a unique one. The NFL draft gets a ton of focus right after the season, culminating in the NFL combine in Indianapolis, Indiana. Then, with a ton of unofficial conversations happening in Indy, the NFL free agency changes everything about what could happen in the NFL draft.
With everyone wondering how at least six teams, including the Cleveland Browns, will fill their quarterback needs, Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward have been the focus but a Matthew Stafford trade and Sam Darnold signing could quickly change things for a few teams.
With the Browns expected to “attack” the QB position, the connection to Jalen Milroe from his time with new OC Tommy Rees when they were together at Alabama could lead to a reunion in Cleveland. Milroe was asked about meeting with the Browns at the NFL combine and his thoughts on coming to Cleveland and “seizing the opportunity” but doesn’t seem to see himself as a hero:

A highly athletic quarterback, with a great work ethic and football IQ, Milroe needs development as a passer. The Crimson Tide QB is currently the fourth-rated player at his position on the Consensus Big Board, with an overall ranking of 47th.
Cleveland is slotted to have four picks in the first three rounds and could look to reunite Rees and Milroe. Finding a veteran to start the next season or two while mentoring Milroe could help the Browns return to competing for the playoffs while developing their long-term starter.
Do you like the team-oriented humility of Milroe’s statement or would you prefer your QB saw himself as the hero to raise his team?
