As Browns QB rumors swirl, multiple other teams are still looking for answers including the Steelers and Giants
The Cleveland Browns are not the only team looking for a quarterback but they might be the most interesting. To start the offseason, six teams seemed poised to try to solve their quarterback position needs through NFL free agency and the NFL draft. Now, a week into free agency, there are still a number still looking, along with the Browns:
- New York Giants
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Tennessee Titans
- Minnesota Vikings (maybe)
The game of chicken between teams and veteran quarterbacks seems to hinge on whether the Vikings want Aaron Rodgers. Russell Wilson has visited both the Browns and Giants, former Cleveland QB Joe Flacco has also visited New York and, now, another (soon to be) former Browns QB will talk with the Giants:
Free-agent QB Jameis Winston is scheduled to visit the #Giants on Tuesday, per sources.
While the New York braintrust waits for Aaron Rodgers’ decision, it‘s continuing to visit with alternatives: Joe Flacco, Russell Wilson and now Winston, the former No. 1 overall pick. pic.twitter.com/775R4CwG6h

After being benched last season, Winston’s time in Cleveland is likely over. Joining New York could give him another shot to rejuvenate his career which has been full of a lot of big numbers (both good and bad).
It seemed like Wilson might be in charge of his next landing spot at one point but the Giants visiting with both Flacco and Winston points to that game of chicken being complicated. The Steelers may want Rodgers but Wilson wants to return to Pittsburgh? New York may want Rodgers but Rodgers hopes to play in Minnesota. Cleveland might want Kirk Cousins but he may not be available.
A lot of “buts” for the most important position in football.
