Analyzing OT Justin Skule as a potential swing-tackle option for Cleveland
The Cleveland Browns are heading into the offseason with a few important goals, and one of them is to fix the offensive tackle situation that’s plagued the team for multiple seasons.
This year’s free agency class is surprisingly full of depth-level offensive linemen who could fit what the Browns are looking for.
One of the most intriguing prospects for the team based on both scheme and positional versatility is Justin Skule, who’s been a fairly valuable offensive tackle for San Francisco and Tampa Bay over the past five seasons. His ability to effectively play both left and right tackle could make him a mouth-watering prospect for Cleveland once the free agency period officially opens in March.

Fit with Browns
Justin Skule has been an important piece of the Buccaneers’ offensive line unit throughout 2024, and his ability to contribute on both sides of the offensive line at a serviceable level would be even more valuable in Cleveland.
The Browns need to find a third offensive tackle that can provide top-level depth in the event of injuries, and that’s exactly what Skule could do.
Browns player signing could impact
It’s difficult to name a specific player who would be impacted most due to the team’s pending free agents but Skule would bring stiff competition to anybody battling for the LT2/RT2 job throughout the summer.
How the signing could impact the NFL Draft
Based on Cleveland’s underwhelming offensive tackle situation over the past two seasons, Skule’s signing “shouldn’t” impact the Browns’ draft plans too heavily. The team would likely still target an offensive tackle, maybe even two, in the draft to add more bodies to an extremely weak position group.

Medium – High.
Projected APY: $3,000,000 – $5,000,000
