The DBN staff predicts the Week 12 games, plus the national media make their predictions for Saints vs. Browns.
Here is what the national media is saying about the Week 12 game between the Browns and Steelers:
CBS Sports (Pete Prisco) – Steelers 20, Browns 17
The Steelers are playing well, while the Browns are not. But this is a division game on a short week on the road. That’s tough for any team. And Russell Wilson wasn’t good last week. The Browns will show up for this one and keep it close. The Steelers will win it with a late Chris Boswell field goal, but it’s tight.
CBS Sports (John Breech) – Steelers 27, Browns 17
Sporting News (Vinnie Iyer) – Steelers 24, Browns 13
The Steelers’ defense and special teams have been the foundation for their division-leading success all season long. Whether they can transcend to be a complete, more dominant team to challenge the Bills, Chiefs, and others for the AFC title depends on the offense better executing in the red zone with Russell Wilson. The Browns’ defense is reeling with ineptitude and injuries, and throwing Jameis Winston at the Steelers’ D sounds bad, too.
Sporting News (Bill Bender) – Steelers 24, Browns 17
Is this a letdown game for Pittsburgh on a short week? The Browns are 1-4 S/U at home, and Jameis Winston took a combined total of eight sacks in losses to the Ravens and Chargers. Pittsburgh has allowed more than 17 points just twice this season. Russell Wilson has taken three or more sacks in four starts, but he’s limiting the interceptions. The Steelers grind out another AFC North win here.
