NFL free agency is months away but the NFL playoffs are rolling so a few free agents Browns fans should watch
The 2024 season was a failure for the Cleveland Browns but that doesn’t mean it is doom and gloom moving forward. QB Kirk Cousins could come save the day, despite a recent report, the Browns could be able to void QB Deshaun Watson’s contract to have more money to spend in NFL free agency or a Deion Sanders rumor could lead to a big NFL draft trade to change the fortunes of the franchise.
Not everyone will be back on Cleveland’s roster from last year including a number of prime trade candidates. In an exclusive interview with DBN, P Corey Bojorquez noted he would love to talk about an extension with the team.
Who knows what it will take for the Browns to return to the NFL playoffs and, hopefully, get back to competing for a chance at the Super Bowl. Right now, being a Cleveland and Ohio State fan has just one disappointing team.
No matter what they decide to do with the second-overall pick, Cleveland’s roster has 26 free agents and a load of needs so we decided to look at NFL playoff teams for pending free agents for the Browns.
So far we have covered:
Now on to Sunday’s slate of games starting at 1 PM
Bills Free Agents
- S Damar Hamlin
After his medical event on the field, Hamlin has turned into a solid rotational safety for Buffalo in 2024.
- WR Mack Hollins
While he gets most of his attention for walking barefoot and other less standard ways of thinking, Hollins has a career-high five touchdowns this year and could solve the slot receiver need for the Browns.
- CB Rasul Douglas
With Martin Emerson struggling and joining Greg Newsome II in the final year of their contracts, Cleveland could shuffle their cornerback room which could make room for the veteran Douglas.
Broncos Free Agents
- LB Cody Barton
With questions surrounding Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Jordan Hicks dealing with injuries all year, the Browns linebacker room could use some stability.
- RB Javonte Williams
Expected to step into a bigger role in 2024, Williams has instead split carries as Sean Payton rotates his back regularly. Williams has over 500 yards rushing and over 340 yards receiving this season with four rushing touchdowns despite playing just 52% of snaps.
- QB Jarrett Stidham
If you are a quarterback hitting free agency, you will probably end up on the list. Stidham got some playing time with the Raiders before signing a two year, $10 million deal with Denver in 2023.

Do any of the above options look like helpful fits for the 2025 Browns?
