NFL free agency is months away but the NFL playoffs are rolling so a few free agents Browns fans should watch
With the expectation that QB Deshaun Watson has seen his last snap as a member of the team the Cleveland Browns will have to do whatever it takes to find a quarterback. No matter what they decide to do with the second-overall pick, free agency will likely be a part of the process as well.
Earlier this season we shared a dream scenario perhaps unfolding with the Minnesota Vikings where the Browns could get a young quarterback. What if, instead, the Vikings keep the young guy and Sam Darnold becomes a free agent? Savings from Watson’s injury could allow Cleveland to be in the Darnold business.
Either way, Watson’s likely departure has seemed to help Browns fans engage more with what is going on with their team including in free agency so we started looking at all of the teams in the playoffs and what pending free agents they have.
So far we have covered:
Now on to the final game of Wild Card weekend with an 8:00 PM kickoff between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams:
Vikings Free Agents
- QB Sam Darnold
It is hard to gauge what Darnold’s market will be especially if this game doesn’t go well. Learning under Kevin O’Connell, the former third overall pick is ready to run Kevin Stefanski’s system but is he a better bet long-term than selecting someone second overall?
- LT Cam Robinson
Are you a left tackle with starting experience? Yes? Then Cleveland should have an interest.
- S Camryn Bynum
A starter for three straight seasons, Bynum is a solid player who might get overpaid coming out of Brian Flores’ system but the Browns likely need a starter next to Grant Delpit.
Rams Free Agents
- LT Alaric Jackson
See the note above about Robinson and place it here as well. Jackson graded out good not great according to Pro Football Focus.
- WR Demarcus Robinson
A solid veteran receiver with versatility, Robinson set a career-high with seven touchdowns and 505 yards receiving. With two great receivers ahead of him, those numbers are more impressive than they seem.
- LB Christian Rozeboom
After barely playing on defense his first two seasons, Rozeboom played 75% of the Rams defensive snaps this year, his fourth in the league while also still contributing on special teams as well. With uncertainty around Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Jordan Hicks struggling through injuries all season, depth would be helpful.

Do any of the above options look like helpful fits for the 2025 Browns?
