Also, the Browns see one offensive lineman return, and one out again.
Here is your Week 8 injury wrap-up as the Cleveland Browns take on the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday.
Biggest Injury Storylines
- At running back, even though Jerome Ford returned to practice on Friday in a limited fashion, he is out this week. Also, Nyheim Hines is done for the season after not being activated this week. Nick Chubb is a full-go, though, and should have virtually no rep restrictions this week.
- On the offensive line, Jedrick Wills has been ruled out, and Dawand Jones is expected to take his place at left tackle. Wyatt Teller was also activated from injured reserve on Saturday, and should be ready to start at right guard again.
- The other players out for Cleveland are LB Jordan Hicks and S Ronnie Hickman. Neither injury is a big miss, since the Browns have been getting great production at linebacker, and then at safety, Grant Delpit and Juan Thonrhill already returned last week.
- For the Ravens, they will not get RB Keaton Mitchell back this week. Also, CB Marlon Humphrey is listed as doubtful with a knee injury, and CB Nate Wiggins was downgraded to out on Saturday.
Betting Odds Impact
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Browns are 8.5 point underdogs against the Ravens. Cleveland originally began the week as 9.5 point underdogs. Again, it’s not drastic movement, but Baltimore’s cornerback situation could be a reason for the bump down.
Fantasy Implications
- Jameis Winston starts at quarterback this week with Deshaun Watson going on injured reserve, which figures to be good for all of the Browns’ receivers, specifically David Njoku and Jerry Jeudy.
- Even though Wyatt Teller’s return would normally signal for us to get excited about the running game, Baltimore’s run defense ranks No. 1 in the NFL, so good luck with that.
