Coach Staley had some interesting things to say about Chubb today
The Cleveland Browns may have lost their game last week, but they got a “win” for the organization and community by getting Nick Chubb back on the field.
His teammates and staff have repeatedly praised his determination and toughness throughout his rehabilitation period over the past year. There aren’t many people out there who could sustain traumatic knee injuries multiple times and recover as fast as he did.
In the team’s press conference this morning, Runningbacks coach Duce Staley discussed Chubb’s heart and energy, which he brought to the sidelines against the Cincinnati Bengals in last week’s loss.

Coach Staley also said that Chubb was constantly next to him on the sidelines waiting for an opportunity to get into the game:
“Every time I take two steps, he’s right there so I move the left. He’s right there”.
Staley said that one of the most important things to think about as a coach on Sunday was that he needed to make sure to “protect Nick from Nick”. He knew that Chubb would want to be in the game more than he should in his first outing.
It’s going to be interesting to see how much work Nick Chubb gets versus Baltimore this weekend.
