The Cleveland Browns are getting ready to interview a former Ohio State football player.
Per a report, the Browns are going to interview Ohio State linebackers coach/grad assistant James Laurinaitis for an unknown role. The Browns already have a linebackers coach so it’s probably for a different position.
Quick OSU coaches/staff update:
I have been told that current OSU linebackers coach/grad assistant James Laurinaitis is interviewing with the Cleveland Browns. Not certain what the role would be as a quick check of their team website shows a linebackers coach already in place.…

Laurinaitis played for OSU from 2005-08 and had one heck of a collegiate career. His best individual season came as a senior when he compiled 130 total tackles, four sacks, and two interceptions.
He finished his collegiate career with 375 total tackles, 13 sacks, and nine interceptions.
After that, he went on to play in the NFL for the St. Louis (now Los Angeles) Rams and the New Orleans Saints. He spent seven seasons with the Rams after they drafted him in the second round of the 2009 NFL Draft before finishing his career with the New Orleans Saints.
One of his best seasons came in in 2012 when he compiled 142 total tackles, one fumble recovery, two interceptions, and four passes defended.
He finished his NFL career with 869 tackles, 16.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, 10 interceptions, and 35 passes defended.
We’ll have to see if he gets offered a position.
