Bubba Ventrone is seen as an up and coming head coach at the NFL level
“The Draft Starts in Mobile” is the perfect saying for the annual Senior Bowl. For the Cleveland Browns, with the second overall pick and needs around the roster, the Senior Bowl will be extra important this year. While the event now allows a few more younger players than it used to, the Browns need prospects who can play right away in 2025.
Last year, Cleveland safeties coach Ephraim Banda was named the defensive coordinator for the American team in Mobile, Alabama. Banda turned that opportunity into a defensive coordinator interview this offseason.
This year, the Browns will have another up-close look at Senior Bowl prospects as Bubba Ventrone, the team’s special teams coordinator, has been named one of the head coaches this year:

While Cleveland fans have concerns about how special teams looked this year, Ventrone is seen as a future head coach in the NFL in the next couple of seasons.
Of note, both Kafka and Ventrone are former players at the NFL level and work for teams that finished at the bottom of the league this year and have a lot of needs.
Our Barry Shuck has done a great job of covering the Senior Bowl throughout the years as you can see with exclusive interviews with prospects including RB Ray Davis and DE Brandon Dorlus.
Do you think Ventrone coaching the Senior Bowl helps the Browns make better decisions in the upcoming NFL draft?
