On Sunday, the Browns parted ways with Offensive Coordinator Ken Dorsey. Below are some possible candidates to replace him.
Saints Offensive Coordinator Klint Kubiak
The son of former NFL head coach Gary Kubiak, Klint Kubiak has been a rising star in the league over the last couple of seasons. Kubiak has run offenses with the Minnesota Vikings (2021) and his current team the New Orleans Saints. Kubiak worked with Browns HC Kevin Stefanski from 2019-2020 and the two share similarities in the schemes they run. Browns fans will hear a lot of Kubiak during this cycle.
Browns Tight End’s Coach Tommy Rees
One of many possible internal candidates for the Browns, Rees brings a lot of experience as a college coordinator, serving as the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame (2020-2022) and Alabama (2023), before joining Kevin Stefanski’s staff in 2024. Rees is a candidate who is reportedly well liked by former Browns consultant Mike Vrabel and could join him in the future wherever he lands. Rees also interviewed for the North Carolina job during the season (Bill Belichick hired). A rising star coach who can maybe bring some new life to the disaster of an offense.
#Browns TE coach Tommy Rees is expected to get looked at for the team’s offensive coordinator position, per source.

Rams Quarterbacks Coach Dave Ragone
A Middleburg Heights (OH) native, Ragone previously was the offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons (2021-2023) under HC Arthur Smith. Ragone, like Kubiak, is huge in the play action game and has had a lot of success at the NFL level as a coach. Could be a really interesting hire for the team!
Vikings Quarterbacks Coach Josh McCown
Widely regarded as one of the smartest quarterbacks to play the game, McCown has been a hot topic in the league the last couple of years for his development of guys like Sam Darnold, JJ McCarthy, and Bryce Young (half of 2023). McCown is a guy who could come in and help develop the Browns offense with his knowledge! McCown was the team’s starting quarterback from 2015-2016.
Lions Offensive Line Coach Hank Fraley
The Browns lacked in the trenches this season on the offensive side of the ball. Fraley can ultimately fix that. Serving under future head coach Ben Johnson in Detroit, Fraley can bring his knowledge and opinions to the Browns to help develop the offense and assist Kevin Stefanksi and staff next season, if he is hired. Fraley played for the Browns from 2006-20009.
Bears Interim HC / Offensive Coordinator Thomas Brown
Thomas Brown has done a nice job with the Bears offense in the little time he has had as the offensive coordinator. Brown, who has a background coaching running backs, was the pass game coordinator of the Bears before being promoted in place of Shane Waldron. Brown is known for getting the best out of his players and could be a under the radar candidate for the Browns.
